Visitors to Amberley Nursery always comment on our warm, friendly, home from home environment with an enormous garden. The Nursery is extremely conveniently placed in the heart of Bexhill-on-Sea, a 5-minute walk from the mainline station and the town centre, close to St Peter and St Paul School.

Children from birth to 5 years are accommodated in spacious rooms, decorated with colourful seasonal displays, where our enthusiastic and experienced staff support them in making choices through play and encourage them to become independent learners.  Outside, we have a large outdoor space which provides children of all ages with valuable learning opportunities and encourages them to use a variety of senses.  The nursery outdoor space includes a tree house, a rubber chipping climbing area, a sensory area, an eco-garden, a growing area, a themed role-play house, a giant malleable area, various trikes, bikes and cars and parking bays, offering children a safe, inspiring, stimulating and attractive environment for outdoor play.

At the setting we promote a free flow system, allowing the children to move freely through the rooms and out to the garden; choosing activities themselves whilst being fully supported within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We are registered with Ofsted and our last inspection was in April 2022. Ofsted found us ‘Good in every area’ under the new EYFS framework. The report can be read in our resources page.

We have been a Forest School since 2012, taking groups of intrepid explorers to our local Highwoods. Please follow the link for more information.

We are members of the National Day Nursery Association which keeps us up to date with all the latest ideas and practices, the Bexhill Chamber of Commerce for current local issues and the FSB which helps us stay compliant.

We accept both 15 and 30 hours of funding for three year olds. We also have spaces for 2 year old funding. Availability is very limited for fully-funded spaces, there are also places for families who pay an optional contribution towards consumables, through the Integrated Care Package.
